Facial aging is a complex, gradual process that affects everyone, but the rate that aging happens is very individualized. Factors that play a role in aging; lifestyle, diet, genetics, sun exposure & smoking. There is a cascade of changes that occurs with the bone, skin & fat. With age, bone reabsorbs (orbital opening becomes larger, maxillary area recedes, chin loses bone mass & recedes, mandibular angle loses volume. Both the deep fat & superficial fat pads decrease & descend. Collagen significantly decreases every year after your mid 20’s, therefore skin texture becomes dry & dull, instead of reflecting light, it absorbs light, skin elasticity & definition change. Skin may develop blotchiness or dark spots. Forehead/glabella lines develop, crow’s feet become more prominent, heaviness in the eyelids, nasolabial folds start to be pronounced from loss of malar/cheek fat. Patients will start to complain of lip lines, wrinkles around the mouth, sagging jawline & noticeable horizontal neck lines.

Sculptra
An injectable poly-l-lactic acid that stimulates the body’s own collagen production to gradually restore volume & improve skin texture. Sculptra allows for treatments to be customized for an individual's specific needs & desired outcomes.
It works differently than filler. Once injected, it stimulates the body’s own collagen production. The results are subtle & natural looking. Usually takes about 6 weeks to start noticing a difference. Done in decade dosing. Someone in their 50’s would be looking at doing a baseline of 5 vials. These are doing 2 vials per visit over 3 visits about 6 weeks apart.
The results will last at least 2 years. At 2 years you may need to do 1-2 vials to keep up the collagen stimulation but do not need to start the whole series over.

Kybella
A nonsurgical injectable treatment to reduce your submental (under the chin) fat. It is made up of a synthetic form of deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule found in the digestive system to help break down fats so that they are more easily digested.

PDO (polydioxanone) . A biodegradable polyester material that dissolvable suture threads are made from. They break down or dissolve naturally in your body. PDO threads have been used in surgery since the 1980’s. It is a very safe procedure The presence of PDO threads in your skin triggers cells (fibroblasts) to produce more collagen.
These tiny threads are embedded within fine needles. They are carefully & strategically injected below the skin to act like a micro injury in the skin so the body can respond by adding structural proteins (elastin, collagen, elastin) which results in lifted, smoother, plumper, more youthful skin.
